Eye headaches everyday can be caued by a lot of things

Eye-related headaches is quite common, but the most common headache derives from the most common triggers. Since you can get a headache from pain caused to your eye it is quite hard to define what an eye headache really is. Therefore you should know what could be triggering these eye headaches in in and around your eye.

Common triggers are:

  • Excessive reading
  • Watching TV for a long period of time
  • Working at the computer with little or no rest for several hours
  • Cluster headaches (also called Horton’s headaches)

As you see in the list you probably recognize the most common triggers and it have most certainly been the reasons to some of your headaches. Today, these triggers alone count for a lot of the headaches people experience everyday. To summarize the triggers you can see that the “least common denominator” so to speak is a very high level of concentration put to a fixed and small area. This is something that your eyes really don’t like, it is “ok” for a while but if you stare for something for several hours your eyes get strained and most people will take a break. Those who don’t will get some of the many symptoms, these symptoms should be taken as a warning or “I need to take a break”. Some of the symptoms fo eye headaches are:

  • Your eyes hurt
  • You are feeling tired
  • You blink a lot and your eyes feels swollen
  • You get tearing

After a while these symptoms will grow in numbers and it will eventually give you an eye headache. People who get these kinds of headaches all describe the symptoms differently. Some say it feel like you have a “headache behind your eyes”, and often the headache is located specifically behind the left eye. Eye headache have many variations, and also have many names because of that. Common names are; eye headache, eye migraine (a more severe type compared to the eye headache), occular migraines and so on…

People who have bad vision often gets eye headaches, and when they do a normal routine exam at their local doctor they find out that they need glasses. It is very common for people with eyestrain to get headaches since the eyemuscles never get to rest because it’s trying to compensate for your lack of vision. And people who already have glasses could have got a worsened vision and need a new pair of glasses with a better strength. If feel that you experience these kinds of headache around your eye everyday you might be having one of these eye headaches. Go see a doctor or neurologist for advice. Sometimes trying to reduce your stress might help as it will also lower your blood pressure which is a common trigger to headaches in general. Eye headache can also come from tiredness, and by eating healty foods you get the energy you need to help you cope with everyday tasks.
